Julia Stiles Joins Midnight Sun

NBC pilot Midight Sun lands its lead.

Deadline have learned that Julia Stiles (Dexter) will be the lead in NBC pilot Midnight Sun.

Stiles will play FBI agent Leah Kafka, a cult specialist who leads the investigation into the disappearence of Midnight Sun, a cult like group living in a commune in Alaska but then uncovers a larger conspiracy.

The show also stars the previously announced Titus Welliver (Lost), who will play the charismatic and manipulative leader of the group and has added Connor O'Farell (The Pacific) as Police Chief Harring, Emma Bell (The Walking Dead) as his daughter and Daniella Paneda as the police receptionist.

Also joining the cast will be David Harbour (The Green Hornet) as Ethan Davis who runs the local Coast Guard. Harbour will soon be seen in HBO's Newsroom from Aaron Sorkin.

Midnight Sun is written by Lisa Zwirling (The Event) and is based on the Israeli television series Pillars of Smoke.
