2011 saw the Star Wars trilogy collections become one of the best selling catalogue Blu-ray discs of all time.

Lucasfilm and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced today that they will be re-releasing the trilogies as two limited edition steelbooks on April 8th 2013.

The trilogy collections are packaged in new, exclusive and collectible steelbook artwork and are available to pre-order with the Prequel trilogy (Episodes I-III) here and the Original trilogy (Episodes IV-VI) here.

Starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Samuel L Jackson, Ian McDiarmid, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Kenny Baker, Dave Prowse and Christopher Lee across the six films, these Blu-ray steelbooks are a must for collectors and newbies to the Star Wars Universe alike.

Insanely exciting news for all us Star Wars and Blu-ray nerds. We're considering fashioning a Princess Leia Danish pastry hair-do in celebration.

The Star Wars Blu-ray Trilogies limited edition steelbooks will be out on April 8th 2013.
