Copy Haho - Wrong Direction

After featuring such talent as Pulled Apart By Horses and Three Trapped Tigers, Too Pure Singles Club follows on it’s hot run by featuring Copy Haho’s 'Wrong Direction' as it’s October release. Limited to 500 copies and with artwork from tour mate Sparky Deathcap, it’s a collector’s item in the making.

There’s something about the Scottish accent that really lends itself to guitar-pop, and singer Joe Hearty provides us with some brilliant snapshot moments throughout the A-side. The chorus is catchy and upbeat, put in contrast to the songs own slow, tentative opening, it quickly descends into the brilliant chaotic mess you’d expect. There’s definitely a hint of 2004 in here, but in a good way – it’s refreshing to see a band purely trying to make a straightforward indie record, and this captures their energy to perfection.

At 3 minutes and 18 seconds long, it’s the classic length for a single, and the fact that the b-side, 'Demons & Gods', is equally brilliant is surely a good sign. If this is anything to go by, then the forthcoming album is going to be an absolute treat. Definitely ones to watch.
