So finally one of the most talked about bands of 2009 release their debut single. It has been pretty difficult to avoid hearing of Egyptian Hip Hop; only an extreme hermitage could possibly result in not learning the gradual crescendo of whispering. 'Wild Human Child' is sure to result in many a confused yet impressed journalist, for Egyptian Hip Hop are pretty much genre immune. Like playing a game of Labyrinth on a particularly rocky boat, it is seemingly impossible to define their sound. But regardless, here is the ‘Official This Is Fake DIY [über hyphenated] Description for Egyptian Hip Hop’: discordant-electro-atonal-psychedelic-serialism-minimalist pop.

'Wild Human Child' is simply excellent – an energetic gem of exotic grooves and riffs. There is a hint of Prince in there, and enough discordance and charming imperfections that could easily cause the hospitalisation of Simon Cowell and his cronies. This is just the start for an exceptional band. What comes next is sure to be nothing short of revolutionary.
