Simian Mobile Disco are back and what a statement they’ve made. Instead of sneaking through the backdoor dragging their feet, they’ve thrown a party and invited the whole world and his wife.

Featuring guest vocals from Yeasayer’s Chris Keating, ‘Audacity of Huge’ is a mass of bouncing synths, Chemical Brothers-style deep-voiced backing vocals and the odd pseudo dog bark. Yes, strange it may sound, but, somehow, these ingredients combine to make a ridiculously catchy and danceable song.

Watch out for the forthcoming album ‘Temporary Pleasure’, released on 17th August. If this single is anything to go by, it’s going to be a corker. Rating: 9/10
