Underworld - Always Loved A Film

Underworld - Always Loved A Film
Single Reviews

The three minutes shorter radio edit sounds somewhat fragmented and repetitive.

Released: 31st August 2010
Reviewer: Dani Beck
Not much needs to be said about Underworld’s past and achievements. In the last 20 years they’ve continuously created dainty techno music for the masses, ‘Born Slippy’ being probably their most famous track.

The duo’s latest release from their sixth studio album ‘Barking’ is the house-esque ‘Always Loved A Film’. Its punchy beats and melodic vocals may sound like they’re straight out of the noughties, but as some say - good music is timeless.

However, the song is only able to develop its whole structure, with all its sound gimmickry and ambience, in the almost-seven-minutes-long album version; the three minutes shorter radio edit sounds somewhat fragmented and repetitive.

No doubt, Underworld have done better and have been more exciting before, but they prove once again that they can (still) make solid electro music.
