While the track is lovely in itself, you do yearn for some energy.

Their comeback single showcases a rather darker sound and is far more understated than their earlier exuberant dance-floor filling material. ’Visionary’ is based on nothing more than a simple and basic motorik groove, and a bassline that could have came straight off ‘Unknown Pleasures’.
The twin vocals of husband and wife Dede and Thomas Wegg Prosser create a dreamy vibe and the whole song has a lovely feeling of lightness to it. Producer Luke Smith, of much-missed Clor, adds some lovely keyboard flourishes and effects but you do get the nagging feeling that there is something lacking and, while the track is lovely in itself, you do yearn for some energy and real vigour.
‘Visionary’ is a rather curious choice of a comeback single that perhaps would make more sense in the context of an album, but at least it acknowledges the fact that We Have Band still exist and that is an entirely good thing.
